STEAM DOKEV MODS
With word recently that the Steam Deck will fully support mods just like a PC, the company is arguably trying hard to move away from people comparing its hardware to that of the Nintendo Switch, which many have already drawn comparisons with. Whatever goes on inside the machine, it's the games that people are going to be interested in. Hardware engineer Yazan Aldehayyat boasts that Valve might be the first company to use the LPDDR5 RAM.

Valve also spoke about the spec of the device, reiterating that the hardware features a brand new AMD GPU and processor, as well as RAM which is speedier than originally thought, having quad-channel memory as opposed to dual-channel. While Griffais doesn't specifically address the concerns about online games being compatible, it's perhaps comforting to hear him speak with authority about how every game, particularly Steam games, should have no problem running.

RELATED: The Cheapest Steam Deck May Be Slower Than Gamers May Like Developer Pierre-Loup Griffais said that some games would struggle to play on early prototypes of the hardware, but since then he seems confident that the "entire Steam library" is now running as intended on the Deck. The story has been edited to reflect that information.Recently, Valve has talked more about the Steam Deck, insisting that the device is capable of running not only the entire back catalog of games, but titles that are coming out this year. Following the trailer’s reveal, developer Pearl Abyss clarified with IGN that the game is better described as “an action open-world adventure,” and not an MMO. Neither platforms nor a release window were given.Ĭorrection: A previous version of the article described DokeV as an open-world MMO, per previous marketing text. I’d certainly like to get my hands on one of those cool skateboards. Pearl Abyss mentioned throughout that DokeV is a work in progress and content is “subject to change,” but there’s certainly a lot more to discover about these creatures called Dokebi. The gorgeous and colorful world of DokeV is brimming with activities, stories, and experiences, so get ready to befriend tons of Dokebi, embark on an adventure, and rock the world! Who knows, they may be dancing around you, even now! Meet Dokebi, whimsical creatures that live side-by-side with humans and encourage people’s dreams from which they gain strength.

In a YouTube description, Pearl Abyss gave a few more details on DokeV:ĭokeV is an upcoming creature-collecting open world action-adventure from Pearl Abyss filled with intriguing stories and set in a unique, vibrant world. Plus, it’s backed by a very catchy sound. Throughout it, cartoon children zoom around on skateboards, rollerblades, and gliders fight in chaotic battles with absolutely bizarre, colorful weapons and ride creatures that look like llamas. Instead, the game looks like a mashup of a bunch of other game elements, like Monster Hunter, Pokémon, and even Splatoon.Ī four-minute trailer at Gamescom 2021 showcased the DokeV’s crowded city world and a few other settings. There are plenty of video games where you collect creatures, but there’s not much that looks quite like DokeV, a new open-world adventure game from developer Pearl Abyss.
